After careful consideration I have decided to transfer all hardware review activities to a new domain. I purchased Hardwareasylum.com in 2012 and have been working hard to build a new and improved Ninjalane on that domain. NVidia GeForce GTS 450 Video Card Review

Conclusion
Mainstream gaming is a very fierce market segment driven by price and performance with the winners chosen not by placement on store shelves but rather by the consumer and user experience. The GTS 450 is designed specifically for this market segment using real gamer data to help reinforce what gamers really want in a product. One of the key features typical of the mid level gamer is screen resolution, and while 1680 x 1050 was chosen as the target for this card it does not seem to do well against the Radeon HD 5750 at the higher resolutions.
Power and heat are always a concern with any expansion card, especially when the heat is not dumped directly outside the case. The GTS 450 only requires a single 6pin PCIe power connector so the total power consumption should be considerably less and make it more compatible with older systems with limited space and smaller power supplies.
